Arts Council England
The Society is grateful to have been awarded a grant by Arts Council England for the 2019-20 season of concerts. The Society has to apply each year, and each year ACE has less and less money to go round all the worthy causes that apply for grants. We are grateful to be able to continue to bring world-class orchestras to Kendal with another full season of wonderful music for 2019-20.
When the Society makes a financial surplus, part of the grant has to be repaid. The grant is awarded on the basis of various conditions, a key one of which is to attract significant donations and grants from other sources.
South Lakeland District Council
SLDC has awarded the Society a grant for the 2019-20 season, and we thank them for their continued support.
The Friends of the Society
The Society runs a Friends scheme providing an opportunity for supporters to get even more from their music. In return for a donation, the Friends are invited to a social reception at which they have the opportunity to meet the Lakeland Sinfonia orchestra members, the evening’s soloist and conductor, the Trustees, Patrons, Corporate Sponsors and of course other Friends.
There is always a lot to do to keep these concerts running smoothly. The Trustees are all voluntary, and give much of their time to ensure that everything happens as it should. If you think you may be able to help in any way then we would be really pleased to speak to you. Volunteering for the Society is enjoyable and rewarding and it is motivating to be involved in the preparation and running of such wonderful musical experiences.
We are particulary looking for help with:
– Handing out concert programmes
– Meeting and greeting concert goers
– Pop-up box office
– WordPress web site development
