We are delighted to welcome as our new President, John Summers, a long standing friend of the Society. John studied 'cello and worked freelance in Scotland with the BBC, Scottish Ballet and Opera. While working as a freelance 'cellist with the Northern Sinfonia he was appointed as Tours Manager and then Administrator. He finally became their Chief Executive in October 1989 and was heavily involved in the planning of the Sage Gateshead. John was appointed Chief Executive of the HaIlé in May 1999.

At the AGM our Honorary Secretaries, Dorothy and Martin Grace, were elected as Trustees.
