Click here for more detailsThe majestic music of Wagner opens this programme followed by the ever popular gypsy influenced Violin Concerto of Brahms. The 50th anniversary of the death of the Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu is celebrated with this prolific composer’s excellent 6th Symphony (Fantaisies  symphoniques), full of Martinu’s rhythmic energy and colourful imagination.

Our soloist will be 2008 Grammy Award winner, Canadian James Ehnes who has played with many of the world’s best orchestras and has an excellent reputation.   We are pleased he will be with us in Kendal.
