Here is
probably one of the most popular concertos of all time, 'the Grieg' (the
Chopin of the North), neglected for years as being 'too popular' but now
regaining its rightful place in the repertoire. Everyone knows the
opening - even Eric Morecambe - but we predict that all the notes will
be there and in the right order! Brahms' Second Symphony is sometimes
called his 'Pastoral'; this is the sunniest of his four symphonies.
The New York Times described Hong Xu as "... a technically brilliant
musician of seemingly limitless potential".
