A great start to our season. Reznicek may not be a household name but
the melodies of his effervescent overture Donna Diana will be familiar.
Bruch complained that his first violin concerto was too popular, the
others he wrote being ignored. It has been in and around the top of the
Classic fm 'Hall of Fame' for years and rightly so. We are delighted to
welcome back Min-Jin Kym who enchanted us on her last visit. Finally the
mighty, groundbreaking Eroica – dedicated to Napoleon but the
dedication page was obliterated in a savage act of anger when Beethoven
heard that Napoleon had crowned himself 'Emperor'
