What
better way to start a new season than a good
helping
of music by
two
of the giants of
classical music - Mozart's masterly overture to 'Don Giovanni'; a little
gem
of a piece for violin and orchestra; Beethoven's 2nd Piano Concerto and
then his 2nd Symphony described
variously as 'fiery in spirit' and 'smiling throughout' despite being
composed at a time when Beethoven's deafness had him contemplating
suicide.
We are
delighted our Leader, David Routledge, will play the Mozart and we
extend a warm welcome to Alessandro Taverna who won the Bronze Medal at
the prestigious Leeds Piano Competition,
