'World Premiere' has got to be a highlight in any season but one with the working title of 'Feet in the Clouds', inspired by fell running in the Lake District, has to be an event to savour.

Elgar's powerful First Symphony, a work 'demanding virtuosity from every player' concludes the evening, while before that a rarely performed but charming concerto by Bruch, for the unusual combination of clarinet and viola, makes up the rest of this varied programme.
