How to Book
The
booking form – see below – gives you the opportunity to book for the concerts in the
Subscription series and/or the ever popular Christmas Charity Concert.
On
Monday 11 August, we will allocate the subscription series seats. We
give priority to existing subscribers whose applications we have received
(please don’t rely on telepathy), and then those who wish to join us.
Not a Subscriber?
If
you are not a subscriber but would like to come to one of the concerts in the
series, all you have to do is to ring our Membership Secretaries 2-3 weeks prior
to the date. It is possible to obtain tickets at much shorter notice.
Please ring
01539 722533
preferably before 8.00pm please. Of course we cannot guarantee availability, but
we will do our best.
Can’t Come to a Concert?
This system only works when subscribers kindly tell us if they cannot come to
one of the concerts. We cannot give refunds for the subscription concerts, but
can sell the seats on behalf of the Society. Please ring the number above as
early as possible.
Ticket Prices
We were
politely taken to task last season for only quoting ticket prices on the booking
form and not elsewhere.
We ask all
those who are subscribers (see Bookings) to
pay £6. The seats in the Grand Tier are £79 and those in the rows at the front
(the Area) £69.
The Christmas
Charity Concert seats cost £13 this season.
Tickets for the
BBC Philharmonic and Hallé concerts will go on sale when we publish our
newsletter in November. Grand Tier Seats will be £20 and Area seats £15.

Subscription Concerts
We are no longer
keeping a waiting list for the subscription series. Please use the booking
form. On Monday 11 August we will give priority to existing subscribers,
who should note that no reminders will be sent! We will then allocate the
remaining seats. If demand exceeds supply, we will of course refund any money
sent to us.
Payment for the season tickets can be made in two instalments by enclosing two
cheques with your form instead of one. The first will be currently dated and
will include the Membership Fee(s), half the cost of the Season ticket(s) and
the cost of the Christmas Charity Concert. The second, post-dated to 1 January
2009, will cover half the cost of the Season ticket(s).

Why be a Subscriber?
| ♫ |
You
are supporting a popular local music society that attracts first class
orchestras and artists to Kendal.
Your involvement helps the future of the Society. |
| ♫ |
In the
winter months, you do not have to travel further afield to concert
venues. |
| ♫ |
You
have your own guaranteed seat(s) in a full auditorium – we try our best
to accommodate specific requests (in writing please) though unless you
ask otherwise, we try to allocate you the same seat(s) each season. |
| ♫ |
If you
are away you can offer your seat(s) to family and friends. Then if you
cannot find someone, you know you will be supporting the Society by
letting us know so we can make the seat(s) available to others. |
| ♫ |
You do have priority of booking for the “special” concerts – the BBC
Philharmonic, Hallé and Christmas Charity Concert. |
Can you buy
tickets for individual concerts?
Yes, and the arrangements are as above. Ring 01539 722533 two or three weeks prior to
a concert and we will do our best to help. We cannot guarantee to find you a
seat or seats, or where in the Hall you will sitting.
Christmas
Concert
Please use section B of the booking form.
Booking for
the BBC Philharmonic and/or Hallé
In November we will send to everyone on our mailing list confirmed details of
these two excellent concerts. The newsletter will carry the booking form. Act
quickly, ticket usually sell within a couple of weeks!
Gift Aid
We are most
grateful that so many subscribers, who are automatically members of the Lakeland
Sinfonia Concert Society, indicated that we can claim Gift Aid on the
Membership Fees.
In addition many people who bought
tickets for the Christmas Charity Concert allowed us to claim Gift Aid on that
portion of the ticket price that makes up the contribution to the charities -
approximately half the amount.
If you pay income or capital gains
tax at least equal to the tax we reclaim (currently 28p in the £), please tick
the box on the booking form overleaf. Thank you.
